silver bracelet, gold jewelry

Who would know that bracelets could signify different phases of mylife? For me, the best kind of jewelry is one that has meaning.

I remember when I received my first silver bracelet. On the morning of my Sweet 16, I was given a mint green box tied with a thick decorative cream ribbon. I slipped the ribbon off and uncovered the box. Inside was a silver bracelet with a chunky chain with one engraved pendant. I wore the bracelet everyday until I graduated high school. It was a simple classic that matched every outfit. Slowly but surely, I began adding charms: a tiny silver pen to signify my passion for writing, a little shoe with wings for my activity in track, and a lovely silver palm tree to show my love for the beach and Hawaii. Years have passed since my Sweet 16, but I still have an affinity toward silver bracelets. I've had my fair share of gold jewelry, but I still lean toward silver as my metal of choice. My Sweet 16 present is now filled with loads of meaningful charms and it is mostly kept safe within a drawer as a symbol of my late teen years.

These days, I love piling classic silver bracelet bangles on top of each other that come with engraved words of motivation. For example, one bracelet states "Dance like no one is watching". Today, dance is extremely important to me and it's something that I want to succeed in.

Jewelry can be used for fashion or it can be a sentimental piece. Personally, I've been lucky to have both.
